Submitted by admin on Mon, 04/12/2021 - 20:34

Nigerians are urged to be on the lookout for Fake Websites advertising the Federal Government Covid-19 Relief funds.
These websites are purely designed with the intention of stealing your personal and financial information.

Scammers are increasingly taking advantage of the financial difficulties and uncertainty generated from the COVID-19 pandemic to trick unsuspecting Nigerians.

The Cybercriminals also create fake comments of people claiming to have benefited from the funds on the websites so as to gain the trust of their prospective victims.

Between October 2020 and March 2021, over 341 Reports with over 138 Million Naira was lost to Cybercriminals via Fake Covid-19 Relief funds.

Protections Tips:
 - Don’t click on any links in text messages or emails to reach a government website, always type the address into the browser yourself or check on google.

 - If unsure about an offer, ask a friend or colleague about what they think before providing your personal or financial information

 - If you have already provided your information or know someone who has, quickly report by calling the police or by sending us a report.
